The “LAR NAZARÉ” was founded in 1988 due to the necessity to house some poor girls too, because if there is some kind of risk for boys who live in poor area, the girls has the same kind of risk too. Firstly, most of the girls who were assisted, they came originally from poor family which financial situation was already known. Most of them are students´ sisters who belong to the Institution.
At present, there are 220 girls between 7 to 15 years old who have lived at “LAR NAZARÉ”. They have attended to the Elementary School in a boarding school system where 80 students more have attended to a part-time boarding school system at the Institution too.
For the teens are offered short–term courses for vocational training purpose, such as: Cooking, Dressmaking Aesthetics and Beauty. And for those, who have concluded the Grade School, they continued to attend to the High School at the Youth Educational Center Father João Piamarta (Centro Educacional da Juventude Padre João Piamarta)
