In 1979, the government of Ceará whose governor was Vírgilio Távora donated to the Youth Educational Center of Father João Piamarta, the site of Açude Riachão Pcoti which is located in Pacatuba city and it belongs to Itaitinga now. The real intention of this donation was to support Father Luiz in order to expand his philanthropic action for poor children and the Educational Center has assisted only teenagers. From the start, it has been adapted the existing structure until 1984 when it was founded its own construction in order to achieve its original purpose.

The “Casa da Criança Gov. Virgílio Távora” had 250 children to stay initially then it continued its expansion in order to get much more regents. Now days, it houses 450 children between 7 to 13 years old who go to boarding school in Grade School and they also attend to “special classes” called “speeding classes”.
